	Public Libraries in Niigata City People who live, work, or go to school in Niigata City can use any of the municipal libraries free of charge. Several of these libraries have sections for foreign books and magazines. You will need to apply for a free library card to check out books. To get one, ask alibrarian or a receptionist for an application form and fill it out. You will need to present proof that you live, work, or study in Niigata City. An alien registration card, insurance certificate, driver's license, etc. will be accepted. For informationon on lending conditions, opening hours, and holidays, please inquire at the library.
