	TV, Radio, and Newspapers Television There are six television broadcast stations in Niigata: two NHK stations and four commercial stations. In addition, it is possible to receive satellite television, however, in order to receive it, your television set must be equipped with a tuner and a satellite dish. Programs that have "" written next to them in television listings are available in two languages. This fee can automatically be deducted every 2, 6 or 12 months from your bank or post office account, or it can be collected by NHK service personnel at your home at the same monthly intervals. Depending on the contract, channels such as CNN can be viewed and a regular connection to the internet can be installed at a fixed price. You will be charged an application fee, an installation fee, and a monthly service charge. If you have a short wave radio, it is possible to listen to international radio broadcasts. Note that there are also community FM radio stations in certain areas.
